David Rhee, M.D.

Dr. Rhee graduated with honors from Harvard University, with a B.A. in Biology. After graduating from medical school at the University of California – San Diego, he then attended Tufts University for residency. Dr. Rhee completed his Vitreoretinal training at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, where he was awarded the William H. Tasman Outstanding Fellow award.

Dr. Rhee is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.

He has authored many articles in the ophthalmic literature and is the author of several book chapters. He has been a co-investigator in several national studies on macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vascular disease. He serves as a reviewer for the journals Ophthalmology and Retina, and is section co-editor of Retina Times, the journal of the American Society of Retina Specialists, where he writes a quarterly column. His areas of interest include macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, myopia, retinal detachments and small incision retinal surgery.
