Juan Romero, M.D.
Dr. Romero performed his internship at the Hospital of Saint Raphael- Yale University. He then completed his residency at the NY Eye & Ear Infirmary and his retinal fellowship at Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Romero is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology. His professional memberships include the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the Ophthalmic Laser Surgical Society as well as the NYS and Long Island Ophthalmological Societies. He is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the New York Medical College.
Dr. Romero is the author of several articles on Retinal Imaging. He has earned several research awards and received the Paul Kayser International Scholar Award from the Pan-American Ophthalmological Foundation. He has been the co-investigator in several national studies on diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. His other areas of expertise include the repaid of complicated retinal detachments and small incision retinal surgery.
